Blues in Alabama
We don’t always think of the blues when Alabama is mentioned, but the blues is “alive and well” in Alabama. We had the opportunity to spend an evening at Gip’s Place in outskirts of Birmingham. Located in back of Henry Gipson’s house, Gip’s juke joint is a hidden treasure rich in the history of the blues.
Mr. Gip, along with Lenny Madden and Hank Moore, were gracious hosts introducing us to all in attendance and making sure we had a great time!

With blueplanet.tv, we filmed Little G Weevil and Billy Gibson, and some other great regional blues men. Three words describe the evening: love, friendship, and community. We hope to be back soon. Here is a video from that evening: Little G Weevil and Billy Gibson.
